Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation similar in theory to microdermabrasion but without the use of suction or abrasive crystals. An aesthetician grade, sterile blade is stroked along the skin at an angle to gently “shave off” dead skin cells from the epidermis. Dermaplaning also temporarily removes the fine vellus hair off the face (peach fuzz), leaving a very smooth surface. As with any type of exfoliation, the removal of dead skin cells allows home care products to be more effective, reduces the appearance of fine lines, evens skin tone and assists in reducing milia, closed and open comedones, and minor breakouts associated with congested pores.

Please check that the contraindications do not apply to you. Necklaces and earrings will have to be removed during the treatment. If you are looking for a precise and through exfoliation, this facial is great for you!
After your dermaplaning treatment you may experience redness/tenderness in the treated areas for 2-3 hours afterwards. This is normal and will subside. Avoid aerobic or excessive exercise until redness has subsided. Always wear a mineral sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more. Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds for minimum 72 hours. Use only gentle, approved cleansers twice daily on the treated areas until any sensitivity/redness has gone away. Your medical aesthetician will let you know when it is time to introduce your active skincare ingredients back into your routine!
