The ALPHA IPL system delivers transformative skin rejuvenation by targeting multiple concerns in a single treatment. Whether you’re looking to calm active breakouts, brighten pigmentation, or restore youthful firmness, IPL offers a solution tailored to your needs. Our IPL Treatment options are:
Acne + Acne Scarring
A breakthrough solution for persistent breakouts and post-acne marks.
This advanced IPL treatment targets acne at its root—destroying acne-causing bacteria, regulating oil production, calming inflammation, and minimizing pores. It also stimulates healing and helps fade acne scars for a clearer, smoother complexion.
Best for: Active breakouts, oily skin, inflammatory acne, and post-acne scarring.
Add Blue Light Therapy to optimize your results.
Tight & Bright
Our most comprehensive rejuvenation treatment—designed to refine, firm, and illuminate.
The Tight & Bright protocol addresses both pigment irregularities and skin laxity in a single session. It improves skin tone, reduces sun spots, fine lines, and boosts collagen production for a visibly tighter and more radiant complexion.
Best for: Dull tone, fine lines, sagging skin, and uneven texture.
Pigmentation & Sun Damage
Fade stubborn dark spots and restore clarity.
This targeted IPL treatment is designed to break down excess melanin caused by sun exposure, aging, and hormonal shifts. After treatment, pigmented areas may darken slightly before flaking off, revealing a more even tone beneath.
Best for: Sun spots, age spots, and uneven pigmentation.
Redness & Vascular Concerns
Restore skin’s natural clarity and calm persistent redness.
The Alpha IPL system targets facial redness, rosacea, and visible veins using specific light wavelengths absorbed by hemoglobin. This innovative treatment causes problematic blood vessels to collapse and fade while leaving surrounding tissue unaffected. Experience a more balanced, even complexion with reduced flushing and visible vessels.
Best for: Rosacea, facial flushing, broken capillaries, and diffuse redness.
Every treatment begins with a personalized consultation. Our certified medical aestheticians customize the ALPHA IPL settings based on your skin type and concerns.
A handheld device delivers calibrated pulses of broad-spectrum light to the skin, targeting pigment and blood vessels without harming surrounding tissue. The energy converts to heat, triggering collagen production and the body’s natural healing response.
How does IPL differ from laser treatments?
While both use light energy, lasers emit a single, concentrated wavelength of light, while IPL emits multiple wavelengths similar to a photo flash. Lasers typically target very specific concerns with precision, while IPL can address multiple skin issues in one session. IPL is generally less aggressive than many laser treatments, resulting in less downtime.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients require 3-6 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart for optimal results. The ALPHA IPL system typically shows visible improvement after the first session, with progressive enhancement following each treatment.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most patients find the treatment to be very comfortable, with minimal sensation of heat. The sapphire cooling tip allows for maximum comfort and safety.
Is IPL safe for all skin types?
IPL works best on fair to medium skin tones (Fitzpatrick Types I-IV). It’s generally not recommended for very dark skin tones (Types V-VI) as the melanin in the skin may absorb too much light energy, increasing the risk of burns or pigmentation changes. Our aestheticians will assess your skin type to determine suitability.
Can I have IPL if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
We do not recommend IPL during pregnancy or breastfeeding as a precautionary measure. It’s best to wait until after you’ve finished breastfeeding as the fluctuation of hormonal changes in the body can impact the treatment and results.
How long does an IPL session take?
Treatment time varies depending on the area being treated. A full face typically takes 20-30 minutes, while spot treatments and smaller areas like the nose or cheeks may take only 10-15 minutes.
What does IPL treatment feel like?
Most patients describe the sensation as a mild snap or rubber band flick against the skin with each pulse. The ALPHA IPL system includes a cooling mechanism to maximize comfort during treatment.
What is the downtime after IPL treatment?
IPL typically has minimal downtime. Most patients can return to normal activities immediately, though the skin may appear slightly red for a few hours. Makeup can usually be applied the day after treatment.
When will I see results from my IPL treatment?
Some improvements may be visible immediately after treatment, such as a reduction in facial redness. For pigmentation concerns, the spots typically darken before flaking off within 1-2 weeks. Optimal results develop gradually over several weeks following each session, with continued improvement after each treatment in a series.
How long do IPL results last?
Results can last 6-12 months or longer, depending on sun exposure and skincare regimen. Maintenance treatments (1-2 per year) are recommended to preserve and enhance results after desired results are achieved.
Who should not have IPL treatment?
IPL may NOT be suitable for individuals with dark skin tones, those with certain medical conditions (like lupus or porphyria), people taking photosensitizing medications, those with active skin infections, individuals with a history of keloid scarring, or people who have had recent sun exposure/actively tanned skin.
Can IPL be combined with other treatments?
Yes, IPL often complements other aesthetic treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling, certain facials, LED therapy and injectables. However, treatments should be properly spaced apart. Our medical aestheticians and nurse injector can recommend an appropriate treatment plan for your specific concerns to offer the best results.
